Submissive Wife πŸ‘‘

“Let the king give her royal position to someone else who is better than she; then all the women will respect their husbands, from the least to the greatest” (Esther 1:19c, 1:20b, NIV).

In the book of Esther we learn of a young woman rich in faith, who wins favor in the eyes of many important people, including King Xerxes. Esther is then chosen by the king to replace disgraced Queen Vashti; but ultimately chosen by God to save her Jewish people.

As I reflect on the events that transpired In the book of Esther, I am left to wonder, “How did Queen Vashti get it all wrong?”

On the evening she found herself dethroned, she had been busy hosting a banquet for the women in the royal palace of King Xerxes. Queen Vashti had it all: beauty, prestige and wealth; but she lacked reverence and respect for her husband. Her disobedience and inability to submit to the order placed by God resulted resulted in her being stripped of her royal crown and prestigious position, never again allowed to enter the presence of the king.

“But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God” 1 Corinthians 11:3, ESV.

“Everything that you wish a woman would be, be that woman” Lisa Bevere.

Heavenly Father,

Help us to become the submissive wives you created us to be. Although this task may seem a lot easier said than done, we know that anything is possible Β with Christ. Lord please help us to be women who are quick to listen and slow to speak. May we gain favor in your eyes and see changes in our husbands as we honor you with our lives. Help us to get this right Lord! In Jesus’ name we pray. ❀️

  1. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and powerful message with us. I for one was so humbled by the Married Couples Workshop/Dinner @ True Vine last Saturday. I know that being there was NO coincidence; my husband and I are thankful for the words Pastor Renee shared that night.

My heart was overjoyed seeing friends there with their husbands, hearing the soft laughs throughout the night and occasionally noticing the loving embraces between husbands and wives across the room. THANK YOU GOD! πŸ™‚

I pray that every married person reading this blog has a marriage that is made up of LOVE & RESPECT! Father God, allow us to be living/breathing examples of a Christ honoring union so that our children can build happy/healthy relationships throughout their lives…In Jesus name…AMEN!

    Corinthians 13:4-7 (NIV)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
    test of these is love.

      1. Me too! And congratulations on taking your calling of writing to the next level! I pray that God continues to BLESS you and inspire you to reach the masses with your gift! ❀
