Committed to the Cause

I know firsthand how easy it can be to get consumed with all of the demands and distractions of life. We make a mental note to open up our bibles and pray. Amid ringing phones, crying kids, text messages and Facebook notifications things get pretty crazy–very quickly!

As I reflect on the different seasons I have been through in life, I am amazed at the fact that God chose to call me to work for Him during some of the busiest seasons of my life.

He first called me to fellowship and work with women during a chaotic season in my life. It was during a time when I was busy pursuing a Bachelors in Nursing degree, was working part-time as a community nurse and had two little ones to tend to at home, both still in diapers.

Recently, the Lord would decide to interrupt my life once more during another busy season, and instruct me to begin writing. During this season I find myself working full-time as a Director of Nursing (with many responsibilities and on-call hours), enrolled in my final nursing class and caring for two very active little ones, one still in diapers.

In conclusion, I find that God is not concerned with our busy seasons, chaotic schedules, agendas or excuses. He searches for those he can trust to be consistent and committed to His cause–those who will do all that he asks. The Bible declares, “The eyes of the LORD search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Chronicles 16:9).

Throughout the years, God has “consistently” shown me that He is faithful and true and delights in rewarding commitment and obedience. God has promised good to me and “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in His word I put my hope” Psalm (130:5). ⚓️
